Morning had broken and it was a pleasant morning but the loo breaks which people took was not pleasant since there were only two loos and we had to wait for our chance. I took the opportunity to snap a few shots, few were washing the bikes (?) which would get dirty anyway as soon as they would be on the road. Few others including myself were queuing up outside the loo to do the most important job of the day.

Breakfast was prepared by the good Chandraetan and well we attacked like wild hogs at the three types of eggs and bread and tea. It was yum..Some did not get to eat since they were busy with washing their bikes or were vegetarian. Though they got bananas and all that.

Arjun informed me that Chandraetan's wife was diagnosed with cancer and would not live very long. Well we hope and pray that her last days are peaceful. We appreciate the fact that they looked after us.

Rahul and his friend were off to take some pictures of the coffee plantations. We were too lazy to move our butts. The visit to the waterfall was cancelled due to bad weather and slippery roads. We were hoping to go to Adaikal caves but we ended up canceling the plan since we got busy with the group photo session. The group decided to do the RTMC formation while some fooled around with the cameras.

Filling Station - Sulthan Bathery
After much clicking and snapping we pushed ourselves on to the road for the ride back. On the way we had to fill our tanks and Kartz had to fill up his engine oil

After fixing and filling gas, we made our way down to Sultan Bathery ( or Sultan's Battery (?? Why battery of all things??))

Courtesy Arjun again we stopped at Jubilee restaurant and had the most scrumptious lunch ever. Everybody was telling us to try Titar or Kaada or Koel ( whatever you want to name it) It seems that whatchamacallit was the special of the region. Well I just thought it was a fried bird and so did others. However it does tastes better I think if you cook it some other way, Hmmmmmmmmmmmm !!! Well maybe we were too tired to appreciate it. After a HEAVY (BURP) lunch BURP we were on our way to Bandipur (Kar).

We were doing a good speed but on Muthunga say about 12:00 ish we saw Karthick stuck in the road in the midst of the forest. His brakes were jammed and well should I say thanks to all since we had the opportunity to enjoy the rain as well as appreciate the greenery and the stillness of the forest.

We were appreciating the call of the wild which were crick crick crick and then crickety ccrik crikety crik… faster and faster. It was music to the ears. Just when I was on the verge of shooting a couple of snaps, we heard a rattatattatattatatatat sound. I thought that someone was cutting wood like in the mountains in the north-east, but no sooner than I could complete my thought it just poured out of nowhere. Oh it was beautiful.

I did a little jiggy while watching the guys work on Karthick's brakes. It involved taking oil from the bike and loosening the brake screws and then lubricating the breaks (that's what I understood, forgive me for being duh uh ).

After a while we were all ready to go. The rain stopped and the roads were good so we ripped.

^top^

We decided to meet in Gundelpet and then continue to Chamrajnagar. During this stretch Guna managed to dislodge himself off the road to a valley some 15ft below the road. He was fine since the plantation provided a soft landing. He had help from ten people to push the bike(a 1954 classic 350) up back on the road. We met them up midway after the accident and he looked just fine calm man that he is.

We passed through Chamrajnagar and the light was slowly reducing and well the only thing we have to say about this town is that people and animals do not give a @%#@ about bikes or buses. They just lazily get up and move off expecting you to wait till they cross the road. The dogs who are taking a nap in the middle of the road (GAWK) just gaze at you till you come really close and then decide to move up. The chicken also walks and tries to fly and cross the road at its own pace.

Karthick by now had developed a severe case of animal magnetism and he tested it to prove it by changing bikes with Praveen but as luck would have had it he got smashed almost by a black and white hog the size of his bike. All his lady luck must have gone riding as well. But some of it helped him be safe too and for that we are thankful.

Anyway our next rendezvous was Kollegal. At Kollegal, we met up with Keerthi, Pradeep, Srini, Jahangir. After the rest all met up we started for Malavalli and then Kanakpura where we planned to meet. Keerthi and Arjun were ahead as usual. We were keeping in tune with Jahangir, Guna Prateek and one of the Pulsar.

The road was good and in no time we reached Kanakpura. There while waiting for sometime, we began to worry as we could not get in touch with Kartz and Parveen. It was frustating since Rocky got a missed call and they were trying to find out why there was a call. We waited for some more time and then some of us decided to split praying that the remaining were just late and nothing happened.

Actually we came to know later that Kartz had had an accident while overtaking a bus. He hurt his finger a little but was ok . We can only thank our lucky stars that we did not have any major accidents.

After all was said and done, one of the pulsars which was behaving beautifully all along the ride had a flat and they did not have a spare tube with them. It was midnight according to Keerthi's account and after sorting that out they also started on the 20 kms route back home.

Prateek, Shalini, Rocky and myself separated from Guna and Jahangir at Banarghatta Road and found food at Fanoos and had good sized mambo chicken rolls. There a RD guy with gold top in his chin made conversation as to how he knows Abhi and first thing he asked Rocky " MAALYAALI" LOLOLOL. Man I was too tired to laugh too. Finally we reached home and crashed off.
Another great trip ended with hopefully very good and green memories. This is my second time with the group and I think that it's great riding with RTMC. Someday I am dreaming that we do Himalayas. He he !! never harms to dream. By that time will learn to ride the bike myself.

Till our next ride its au revoir !!

Keep riding keep safe.
